TEHAMA Academy is a community-based STEM and digital skills academy located in Chalinze, Tanzania. We are dedicated to transforming education from theory to practice by equipping students, youth, women, and marginalized groups with hands-on STEM learning, 3D printing, inclusive education tools, and employability-focused digital skills.

Our mission is to close the gap between classroom learning and real-world application by delivering practical, affordable, and inclusive technology-driven education, especially for underserved and peri-urban communities.

Who We Are

TEHAMA Academy is an education and innovation hub committed to advancing STEM education, digital inclusion, and youth employability in Tanzania. Based in Chalinze—an underserved and fast-growing peri-urban area—we serve schools and communities with limited access to laboratories, modern learning tools, and digital skills training.

OUR INITIATIVES

Smart Edu 3D

"3D Creativity for Every Child"

Smart Edu 3D is one of Tehama Academy's flagship initiatives, designed to promote inclusive, hands-on learning through the use of 3D printing technology. The initiative creates tactile and visual learning models that support all learners, with a special focus on students with visual and hearing impairments.

Smart Edu 3D was developed after identifying a key challenge faced by visually impaired students in understanding letters, numbers, and objects. By combining Braille dots with physical 3D forms, Smart Edu 3D enables learners to feel, see, and understand concepts more effectively, making learning more meaningful and inclusive.

What We Do

Using 3D printers, we design and produce:

3D letters and numbers with integrated Braille dots
Geometric shapes and learning models for mathematics and science
Durable, child-friendly educational tools for classrooms and special needs education

All learning models are produced using PLA (Polylactic Acid)—an eco-friendly, biodegradable plastic that is safe, lightweight, and long-lasting.
